Mara Labs was born out of necessity, and out of love.
In 2012, Mara Roberts was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Her husband, David Roberts, MPH, began searching for answers through scientific research and direct testing.
Working with a small group of collaborators, he grew Mara’s own cancer cells in a lab and tested roughly 60 natural compounds against them.
Sulforaphane consistently ranked in the top three performing compounds.
Despite its strong performance in research, no supplement on the market delivered sulforaphane in a form the body could reliably absorb and use.
All available sulforaphane products relied on precursors that required conversion in the gut, or chemical stabilization methods, both of which limited consistent delivery of active sulforaphane to the cell.

In April 2017, a breakthrough was achieved.
