The Healthier Big Mac Taco You Didn’t Know You Needed

by Marie Hill

There’s a seafood place in town that built its reputation on fresh catch and martinis. Funny enough, it’s the burger that regulars can’t stop talking about.

Nothing fancy. No shredded lettuce mountain. Just a perfectly seared patty, melty cheese, and that tangy nostalgic sauce. Simple. Balanced. Classic meets upgraded.

That burger inspired this recipe: Healthy Big Mac Tacos.
Same familiar flavors. Real ingredients. Grass-fed beef. A lighter, creamy sauce. Quick to make, easy to clean up, and ridiculously satisfying.

When a burger and a taco join forces and both show up better?
That’s real-food “fast food.”

What Makes These Tacos Better

  • Grass-fed, grass-finished beef

  • Lighter burger sauce with Greek yogurt

  • No seed oils (avocado oil all the way)

  • Organic tortillas of your choice

  • Classic Big-Mac flavor, elevated

Ingredients

For the Tacos

  • 8 standard-size organic tortillas (flour, whole wheat, cassava blend, or corn)

  • 1 lb grass-fed, grass-finished ground beef

  • 1 tbsp avocado oil, divided

  • Onion powder

  • Sea salt

  • Fresh cracked black pepper

  • 8 slices sharp cheddar cheese (or dairy-free alternative)

  • 16 dill pickle slices

For the Lighter Burger Sauce

  • 3 tbsp avocado oil mayo

  • 3 tbsp plain Greek yogurt

  • 1 tbsp dill pickle relish

  • 2 tsp organic ketchup

  • 1½ tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • Pinch of sea salt

How to Make Them

Step 1: Mix the Sauce

Stir together mayo, Greek yogurt, relish, ketchup, Worcestershire, and salt.
Refrigerate while you cook.

Step 2: Portion the Beef

Divide beef into 8 equal portions (~2 oz each).
Press each portion onto a tortilla, spreading almost to the edges.
Season with salt, pepper, and onion powder.

Step 3: Smash & Sear

Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high.
Brush lightly with avocado oil.
Place tortillas beef-side-down and cook 3–4 minutes, until browned and crisp.

Step 4: Flip & Melt

Flip tortillas so the tortilla side is down.
Top with cheddar.
Cover for ~1 minute to melt.

Step 5: Assemble & Serve

Add pickle slices.
Drizzle generously with burger sauce.
Fold and enjoy warm.
