L-tryptophan and 5-HTP are critical components of serotonin production. Additionally, vitamin B6 (as pyridoxal-6-phosphate) is a necessary cofactor to convert 5-HTP to serotonin. The result is increased serotonin available to regulate sleep, boost mood, and reduce stress response.

In addition to helping 5-HTP convert to serotonin, vitamin B6 helps regulate metabolism, improve nerve function in the brain, and support production of antibodies for your immune system. Importantly, vitamin B6 cannot perform its functions if it is not methylated. This means vitamin B6 needs to be slightly modified by the addition of a molecule to be effective in the body.
